Inertia With Checkers Experiment
- 10 checkers
Materials Needed:
Build a stack of checkers & place the last one about an inch away from the stack. Give the checker a strong flick.
Step 1
When the checker hits the stack, the bottom checker should fly out of the stack while leaving the others in place.
If you don't flick it hard enough it may knock over the pile.
Keep trying even if it doesn't work the first time! This occurs because of inertia and the concept that an object at rest tends to stay at rest
