Materials Needed for Water Droplet Painting:
- Food coloring
- Water
- Small containers
- Pipette or dropper
- Parchment paper
- Paper towels
What To Do:
- Start by making colored water by mixing food coloring and water in small containers.
- Next use the pipette to add drops of colored water to the parchment paper. You can make a picture (like a rainbow) or a letter or just an abstract design. TIP: if you add a drop that’s too large or in the wrong place, just use the dropper to pick it back up and place it in the correct spot.
- Once your design is complete, take a paper towel and lay it over your design and watch the painting come through on the paper towel!
I was so amazed at how bright and beautiful the designs came through on the paper towel! Check out the letter and abstract designs we did as well below.
