VIDEO OF TOILET PAPER ROLL DINOSAUR CRAFT:
Check out the below video of us making the toilet paper roll dinosaur craft!
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Empty toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Googly eyes (optional)
- Crayons (We used oil pastels but regular crayons or markers or paint would work as well.)
WHAT TO DO:
- Start by taking an empty toilet paper roll or paper towel roll and pressing it flat. If you use a paper towel roll cut it into about 4-5 inch long sections.
- Then draw the shape of your dinosaur like the picture below. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be exact as every dinosaur can look a little different.
- Take your scissors and cut along the lines you drew. Be sure to cut through both layers.
- Now open up the toilet paper roll and you will see the legs and body of the the dinosaur formed.
- To complete the dinosaur, fold the top point down to make the head. Then attach googly eyes (or use maker to draw on eyes) and your dinosaur is complete.
- To personalize the dinosaurs, give kids crayons, paints or markers (We used oil pastels which worked great too.) and allow them to decorate their dinosaurs.
Such a fun activity and the kids can play with the dinosaurs afterwards! What other animals could we create using this method I wonder?
