Best Stacking and Sorting Toy
By far, my favorite sorting toy for toddlers is this one:
Melissa & Doug Stack and Sort Board 🚀 age 1-2 🚀
It is made for toddlers age 1-2 years.
What It Teaches
One of my absolute favorite toys for all my boys when they were little is this stack and sort board by Melissa & Doug. They all loved playing with it and it builds so many skills!
These are just a few of the skills it teaches:
- Colors
- Shapes
- Sorting
- Stacking
- Gross Motor Skills
How Does it Hold Up to Multiple Kids?
This is actually the original one we were given many years ago and it’s held up amazingly well (I’m shocked we still have all the pieces!).
Toy in Action
Want to see this toy in action? Here’s a video I captured of my little boy playing with it. The pieces are perfect for his little hands.
How to Store the Stack and Sort Toy
One word of warning – these toys don’t feel very good when you step on them in the dark! You will want to keep them picked up.
So how do you store them? Just putting the pieces on the pegboard is the easiest way. But if you want, you can also get a plastic tub, label it “sorting and stacking toy” and just throw the pieces in there.
I like storing them in the tub because it prevents the pieces from scattering on the floor if I accidentally knock over the peg board.
