On a recent trip to the beach, my kids discovered a fun new way to make sand sculptures and it’s so simple to do yet entertained them for HOURS!!! If you have some sand lying around or are planning on taking a trip to the beach, you MUST try making these cool drip sand castle sand sculptures!
Sand Sculptures Video
Before reading the directions, check out this video of my boys and their cousins making sand sculptures at the beach:
Materials Needed to Make Drip Sand Castle Sand Sculptures
- Sand – Don’t worry if you don’t live the beach, you can order sand from here (aff link).
- Water
- Container to mix the sand – or if you’re on the beach near the water, dig a deep hole and use the watery sand from the hole.
How to Make Drip Sand Castles
- Mix the sand and water in a container until there is a small layer of water lying above the sand.
- Pick up a handful of sand mixed with lots of water.
- Now, let the wet sand drizzle out into a pile!
- Repeat and watch your sculpture form.
So simple and entertained my kids for hours on the beach! They competed to see who could make the tallest sculpture and it was so amazing to see how tall they were able to get them! Our next step will be to try this with colored sand at home! So fun!
