This Grinch Sensory Bag and Letter Activity is a fun holiday activity that makes learning letters fun!

Materials Needed for Grinch Sensory Bag:

- Sealable gallon freezer bag
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cotton ball
- Black permanent marker
- Grinch outline (we used this one)
- Green hair conditioner (or lotion would work too) – We found ours at the dollar store.
- Red acrylic heart (This is from some Valentine’s Day manipulatives we had lying around.)
- Clear packing tape (masking or painters tape would work too)
- White paper
- Red marker
- Dry erase sheet protector
- Dry erase marker
What To Do:
- Apply rubbing alcohol to a cotton ball and rub it on the label on the sealable bag to remove any writing on the front of the bag.
- Place the printout of the Grinch outline underneath the bag.
- Use the black permanent marker to trace the Grinch outline onto the bag.
- After completing the outline, remove the drawing.
- Open the bag and add the green hair conditioner and the red acrylic heart to the bag.
- Seal the bag and use clear packing tape to secure the top and bottom of the bag to a light colored surface.
- Write all the letters of the alphabet in red marker on a white piece of paper.
- Slide the paper under the bag so it’s hidden by the green conditioner gel.
- Move the green conditioner around to reveal the different letters. You can also move the acrylic heart around to give the Grinch a heart.
- Finally, write all the letters of the alphabet in black marker on a white piece of paper and insert the paper into the dry erase pocket.
- Use a dry erase marker to cross out the letters as you find them under the sensory bag.
