DIY Feather Ornaments 🎄 ages 3+ 🎄 Here’s a fun sensory activity that’s also great for color sorting, color recognition, counting and fine motor skills. How beautiful will they look on the tree?
MATERIALS NEEDED (affiliate links):
- Feathers (We found ours at Michael’s but they are available on Amazon as well.)
- Clear, plastic ornaments (We found these cool light bulb ornaments at Michael’s, but any plastic ornaments will work.)
WHAT TO DO:
- Place some feathers on a tray.
- Have an adult remove the metal hanger from the ornament (The inner piece is quite sharp so keep away from little kids.) and set aside.
- Have the child fill the ornament with feathers. They can mix colors to make beautiful multi-colored ornaments, or keep them solid colored.
This fun, sensory activity is great for building fine motor skills, color recognition and color sorting. My kids also love it when they see all their homemade ornaments from years prior each time we get them out to decorate the tree!
